Chesapeake HOG Chapter
of Darlington, Maryland
HOG Chapter 4355 calls Darlington, Maryland our home. Darlington is on the Susquehanna River at the top of the Chesapeake Bay. Our unique location gives us plenty of riding options and opportunities. Northeastern Maryland and Southeastern Pennsylvania have a wonderful mixture of quiet country roads to explore. There are tree canopied roads along the rivers and streams as well as the wide open sky of the Amish country-side. The nearby Conowingo Dam gives us toll free access to points East including the quaint fishing towns along the Eastern Shore and the Beach towns & cities along the Atlantic Coast. There are plenty of historical sites to explore all within a few hours’ ride of our home base. And, of course, there are lots of locally owned dairies – that means ice cream rides!

why join our chapter?
Right from the start, you’ll meet other riders who share the same passion for riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. You’ll likely find that you have a lot more in common with other Chapter members. H.O.G. events are about the ride there, the ride home and everything in between.
H.O.G. rides are organized to discover and explore new places and events. Our Chapter is based in Darlington, Maryland in the Northeastern corner of the state. Our Chapter’s local rides extend through-out Maryland, Pennsylvania and Delaware. Group rides might be designed to explore the Pennsylvania Dutch country, or the rich heritage of the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay. We ride to historic sites. We ride to interesting destinations for lunch. Or, with a wealth of local dairies in the region, we ride for ice cream.
Each of our rides is planned and designed by one of the Chapter’s experienced Road Captains. They know the territory and the roads that connect it. A Road Captain will be at the front of the group and another as the “sweeper” at the tail of the group. They are in radio contact to make sure the group is not separated. And there is always someone to help in case of a mechanical or other problem. You won’t be left stranded.
A focus of our Chapter is our “Secret Santa” initiative at Chrismas time. Each year, the Chapter “adopts” a number of families. We have various fundraisers through the year such as our Poker Run or Garage Sale to raise money that is used to support families in need, especially around the holidays. While it’s often chilli leading up the holidays, it’s a heart warming ride to deliver gifts that truly make a difference in these families’ lives. Throughout the year, our “Sunshine Girl” keeps everyone informed of the general well-being of the members and makes sure that anyone who is sidelined knows that the Chapter members are thinking of them.
Each month, the Chapter holds a general meeting of the members. The meetings are informative and fun. You’ll be up to date on the Chapter’s activities and up coming rides. Our Safety Officer’s report is always informative, instructional and interesting. Our Chapter Historian always has some interesting facts to share and members can win gift cards playing Harley trivia.
The local Chapter always keeps an eye on the RIDE365 program. We facilitate mileage check ins with the dealer, dealer check ins on when practical on our local rides and often have Chapter group rides to RIDE365 Destination Challenge locations.
